I love taking pictures. I'm not a professional, by any definition of the word. Simply picture happy when a camera is in my charge. I enjoy getting up close and personal with my subjects. The closer I can get, the better I like it.
I'm a sucker for nature and animal-life. Or in my case, two cats, two dogs and two Lovebirds. Oh, and one gorgeous Blue Heron...when he's here. He stays for the summer, and that's usually when he kinda grows weary of my presence. I always take the camera with me and spend the summer chasing him...and last year, his mate...up and down the Madawaska. I think though, this past summer, he had become more comfortable with me being there. He let me get so close, it was breath-taking. I didn't have the best of cameras...just a little Canon digital, so my pictures weren't that great. Ah, but it was the chase...and the fact that he let me photograph him that was the blessing.
I do not have a program on my computer that allows for touching up or changing my pictures. In some ways, I'm kinda glad I don't. In other ways, I kinda think what I could do if I did. I'm debating still. Not sure. I like things pure.

I also like to write. Again, I'm no professional. I love the written word. I find it a wonderful avenue of expression. I am part of an on-line journal community. I enjoy it very much. Years and years ago...eons even...I used to write poetry and some little blurbs. I entered a few contests and won for my blurbs. A few of my poems were published. I haven't written anything since like, twenty years...heck, even longer.

I enjoy pretty much anything that allows me to express myself creatively. I also like to paint ceramic pieces; knitting - only the basic of the basics, though. I love to cross-stitch, and have been doing so for nigh on thirty years, I guess.

So, when you read my journals...should I post any...or have a look-see at my photographs...don't judge them too harshly. They're just a depiction of an old woman's fantasy.
